materials: hard + soft exhibition - greater denton arts council
“I was processing the convergent reckonings of racism, health, and political division we are collectively experiencing while working on this piece. It felt as though I was weaving a new understanding for myself, sharpening my gaze - struggling with my country, bursting with pride and love for my hometown, and redefining my voice.”
Materials: Hard + Soft is an international contemporary craft exhibition that celebrates the evolving field of contemporary craft and the artists who push the boundaries of their chosen media. Now in its 34th year, Materials: Hard + Soft is recognized as one of the premier craft exhibitions in the United States. This year’s work was juried in by Pablo Berrera of the Oklahoma Contemporary.
